FIR lodged against PACS president

The Block Cooperative Officer has lodged an FIR for embezzlement against the Kudarkat PACS President of Chhodadano block area of Motihari. On the instructions of the District Cooperative Officer, this FIR has been registered against the Kudarkat PACS President of Chhodadano for irregularities in paddy procurement. This case is of Bihar State Kharif Marketing Season 2023-24. Where the PACS President has embezzled government money in the purchase of paddy from farmers by the government. In paddy procurement, the said PACS President embezzled about 56 lakh government rupees by giving fake figures.
As per the records of the said PACS president, 469.70 MT paddy has been purchased. Its equivalent CMR of 319.4 MT was to be supplied to Bihar State Food Corporation, Motihari. But till now only 174 MT CMR has been supplied to State Food Corporation, Motihari by Kudarkat PACS. The cooperative department noticed this when 145.4 MT CMR was not supplied.
According to the information, for the last three months, the Cooperative Extension Officer directed the Kudarkat PACS President to supply CMR through correspondence, telephone and personal contact. But the PACS President kept making excuses. Even after directing the PACS President to attend the review meeting of the Sub-Divisional Officer Raxaul, he did not attend these meetings. On this, the Sub-Divisional Officer Raxaul directed the Cooperative Extension Officer Chhodadano to physically inspect the said PACS.
When the Co-operative Extension Officer visited the PACS godown, it was empty. The quantity of paddy was found to be zero. While according to the purchase records of the chairman, there should have been 258.575 MT of paddy in the PACS godown. In the investigation report, the Co-operative Extension Officer has accused the PACS chairman of embezzling 258.575 MT of paddy, the total amount of which is approximately Rs. 56 lakhs 44 thousand six hundred 92. An FIR has been lodged against the said PACS president at Chhoudadano police station for embezzlement of government money.
